Error connecting to target: unknown devices

I've been trying to program an MSP430F5538A, Some times it works but most of the times, i get the error message Error connecting to the target:
Unknown device.  I am using the MSP-FET430UIF and using CCS 5.4.0.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
