Hi there
We are wanting to make use of Vbat to keep the RTC_b & backup ram running when DVcc is down.
1)
Reading in MSP430x5xx and MSP430x6xx Family User's Guide (SLAU208O) on p126 and looking at fig3-1.
It shows that VBAT is first connected to the charger (conA) , then it is connected to the switch on the switch control (conB).
And further, Vbat is also connected to the ADC from conA,
From this am i to deduce that when the switch control is OPEN, the reading on ADC will be the reading from the charger???
If yes, then what is the recommended way of monitoring the value of Vbat when DVcc is up?
If no, am i to assume the switch controller and charger position should be swapped around in the figure?
1a) On the same figure, there is mention of Cbak - the cap on Vbak - what pin would this be connected to???
2)
On p128 (sect 3.2.6 of the above doc), it talks about a resistive charger circuit on Vbat...i dont see any resistor on the Vbat circuit diagram (p126).
Is this an internal resistor or is one supposed to place the appropriate external resistor in series with the external capacitor?
thanks
